This week, Pastor Adam steps through chapter 4 in the Book of John, looking at a couple of essential ideas concerning our interactions with others and with God. Listening to those important realities to who Jesus is and how much He loves us, despite ourselves, opens us to be in a place where we can say God truly is my Everything as we live out that truth to the rest of the world.
“God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.” (John 3:17 NLT)
As we continue our walk through the Book of John, we look at chapter 3 this week, where we examine the idea that the purpose of Christ is to offer eternal hope, not judgement, to a fallen human race. Listen as Pastor Jesse looks at who this Jesus is, who came to save us and give us hope in this broken, fallen, and sinful world.
This week, we read through two stories about Jesus’ interactions with others in John 2, where we see what could be called an insignificant miracle and an unexpected reaction. As we look at these passages, Pastor Jesse makes some observations about Jesus in these stories that speak to the character of God and His cares towards others.
“In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.” (John 1:1-5 NLT)
This week we begin a journey through “The Jesus Series,” stepping through the Book of John, where we will get a better picture of who Jesus is as we lean in to know Him and walk with Him more closely. Listen as we read John 1 this week, where Pastor Jesse defines “The Word,” as it appears in those passages, and unpacks how it relates to who Jesus is to all of us.
