MINISTRIES
The ministries of SLW are intentionally structured around fulfilling SLW's core values:
Deepen the Soul
Find Relationship
Join the Mission
Some of our ministries help deepen the soul. Others help us find
relationship. Still others invite us to join the mission. But all of them point us toward Jesus.
As you explore our various ministries, you'll probably notice that some overlap occasionally occurs - in other words, some ministries fulfill more than one value at a time.
Whether it's deepening, finding, or joining, we hope you'll find the ministries of SLW to be challenging, fulfilling, and helpful in your relationship with Christ.
Here are a few of our partnership videos!

We're partnered with local ministries that are outreach-specific, as well as community organizations that provide valuable resources to
those in need.
HeartStrings - Ladies from SLW meet to create handmade blankets for those who in need of comfort due to hospitalization or illness.
Helping Hands - A non-profit organization in Stoneboro, PA, Helping Hands meets a variety of essential needs for those struggling in our
region.
Jersusalem Fund - SLW receives a "Jerusalem Fund Offering" on the last Sunday of each month, and distributes the collection to those in critical need.
At the regional and national level, we support a wide variety of ministries. If they have a website, we've linked to their site so you can check 'em out.

OUTREACH
Jesus came and told his disciples, "I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 28:18-20 (NLT)
At SLW, we take the Great Commission very seriously! We believe God has called us to support local, regional, and global ministries.

CHILDREN
At Sandy Lake Wesleyan, we want kids involved with SLW252! Based on Luke 2:52, we work with parents to help kids "...grow in wisdom & strength..."
Dkidz :: Sundays from 9:40 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. :: Kids Pre-K through Grade 4
Dkidz happens on Sunday mornings, when children come together to Deepen the Soul & Find Relationship with other kids and volunteers. Your children will be in the Word, learning how to read it and how to apply it to their daily lives. Each time block runs independently
(9:40 – 10:40 & 10:40 – 12:00), but the teaching is most beneficial if kids attend both segments. See you Sunday at Dkidz!
UChooz :: Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. :: Kids Pre-K through Grade 4
Uchooz runs from fall to spring in 5 week sessions. Check ‘Events & Info’ for scheduled dates. Uchooz starts with a age-specific small groups followed by large group teaching time. Each evening ends with your child’s elective - they choose their favorite when they register. You can register your kids online by clicking HERE . Every evening before all the Uchooz fun, join us for The Family Table, a come-as-you-are meal for everyone!
Nursery
We’d love to spend some time with your littlest ones while you spend time in worship or study! Nursery is available for infants through children 3 years old during each of SLW's worship services (by request only at 8:15 a.m.).

Life Groups meet in homes around the region, and are an excellent way to not only deepen the soul but also to find relationship. Life Groups enjoy good food, great conversation, and a down-to-earth
reflection on the Sunday morning message through group discussion.
Life Groups meet twice each month, and we have a variety of days and times groups are offered. If you'd like to know where there's a Life Group in your area - or would like to consider leading or hosting a group - please contact Pastor Jeremiah at jxgomez_slwchurch.org

The Seniors' Ministry of SLW is active and on the move! Whether it's enjoying a buffet breakfast at Eat'n Park, or serving side by side at Helping Hands, we get together on a monthly basis for maintaining and strengthening our friendships. We enjoy trying different restaurants and sightseeing around the area, but we also take time to serve and give back to our community.
Pastor Ken is the contact for SLW's Seniors' Ministry, so feel free to call him at (724) 376-2233 or email him at kdepeal_slwchurch.org

SLW's Worship Team consists of vocalists, instrumentalists, sound techs, media techs, light techs, and more! We have a talented team of men and women who serve in various capacities with the Worship Team, but we could always use one more gifted, willing person to step up and serve.
If you love Jesus, know what it means to be humble and ego-less in a high-visibility platform ministry, and believe you just might have some God-given skills to assist in worship of our Creator, please let
us know. In fact, if you have any questions about serving with the Worship Team, please contact Pastor Ken at kdepeal_slwchurch.org
Dgroups are a great way to "Deepen the Soul" at SLW! Dgroups meet in various rooms around the church facility and are available at 9:40 a.m. each Sunday.
For a full list of SLW's current Dgroup options, please click the PDF file below.
Do you have questions about Dgroups? If so, please contact Pastor Beth at bcossin_slwchurch.org

HeartStrings Blanket Ministry meets the second Wednesday of each month at 12:30 pm in room 100 to make blankets that are given to people with
various needs.
In the spirit of 1 Peter 1:22b, “love one another deeply from the heart," blankets are prayed for and distributed to those who are ill, hospitalized, need encouragement, or have a physical need to keep warm.
Blankets have been distributed to Haiti, Native American Indian reservations, children’s homes, nursing homes and to a variety of individuals. No skills are required to participate, just willing hands to work.
If you have questions, please contact Pastor Beth at bcossin_slwchurch.org
The Family Table is an excellent, free meal on Wednesday evenings prior to the start of our Wednesday night lineup (see 'Events and Info' for details). Join us in the Family Life Center from 5:45 to 6:15pm for a healthy, home-cooked meal!
This gathering is a great way to catch up with long-time friends, as well as meet others who are participating or serving on Wednesday nights. And as already mentioned, the meal is free - donations are accepted, but never expected!
PLEASE NOTE - Meals are only served on the Wednesdays that Uchooz is scheduled, so make sure to watch the Uchooz schedule closely!
Also, would you like to join the team? We'd love to have you help cook, serve, setup, or tear down, so please contact us at (724) 376-2233 or office_slwchurch.org if you'd be interested in serving.
It's so important for people to feel warmly welcomed when they come to SLW - and that's what the Welcoming Team is all about! Each weekend
our greeters, ushers, and Hub coffee team members help welcome new and existing families to our gatherings.
If it's a high priority for you to help people feel comfortable, welcomed and valued, then we'd love to have you join one of our welcoming teams. Whether it's offering a handshake, handing out a bulletin, showing someone around our facility, or serving a cup of coffee, we want to help everyone who walks through our doors feel at ease as they experience SLW!
For more information on joining the Welcoming Team, please contact Pastor Ken at kdepeal_slwchurch.org
